Intervento nella tarda serata di venerdì 20 marzo 2026 al largo delle coste ogliastrine, dove una barca a vela in difficoltà ha richiesto assistenza a circa sei miglia a est del porto di Arbatax. A bordo dell’imbarcazione, lunga circa 22 metri, si trovavano tre persone di equipaggio, costrette a proseguire la navigazione con il solo ausilio delle vele a causa di un’avaria al motore.

La situazione risultava particolarmente delicata per via delle condizioni meteo, caratterizzate da vento sostenuto e raffiche, oltre che dalla scarsa visibilità dovuta all’orario notturno. L’equipaggio ha segnalato di riuscire a governare l’imbarcazione utilizzando una sola vela, circostanza che rendeva ancora più complesso il rientro in sicurezza.

La richiesta di soccorso è stata immediatamente presa in carico dalla Sala Operativa della Guardia Costiera di Arbatax che, sotto il coordinamento del 13° Maritime Rescue Sub Center (M.R.S.C.) di Cagliari, ha disposto l’uscita della motovedetta CP 811.

L’unità della Guardia Costiera ha individuato l’imbarcazione a circa quattro miglia a est del porto di Arbatax, raggiungendola in breve tempo. Una volta sul posto, l’equipaggio della motovedetta ha fornito assistenza, accompagnando la barca a vela durante le fasi di rientro.

L’operazione si è conclusa senza criticità: l’imbarcazione è stata condotta in sicurezza all’interno del porto di Arbatax e le tre persone a bordo sono risultate in buone condizioni di salute.
