With dozens of breathtaking beaches and a lively and carefree village, Villasimius is one of the most appreciated and well-known tourist resorts in sardinia. Here the days pass slowly between sunbathing sessions, boat trips, and lunches overlooking the sea. The evenings light up in the lounge bars that overlook the main street of the city center and continue in the premises of the area. Among these stands out one of the longest-lived clubs on the island, the Sciabecco, “theater” of summer evenings for 26 long years.

We went to discover this historic disco, the only club in southeastern Sardinia, which after two years of limitations caused by the pandemic officially reopens “the doors of the night” to its audience with music and dancing until the first light of dawn.

We are picked up at the hotel by the shuttle made available by the club. Just call a little in advance and at the scheduled time the vehicle that leads us to the local arrives. We arrive early so that we can enjoy the pre-evening in the large garden of 2000 square meters.

We sit at a table by the pool, made sparkling by the thousand lights of the room. Lights that we see again on the lawn with the puffs illuminated where you can sit to drink the drinks ordered at the counter. From the cocktail menu we immediately notice the particular attention paid to the choice of labels. We order two Gin Tonics, one with Bombay and one with Hendrick’s, and two Moscow mules with Grey Goose vodka.

While sipping our drinks the Sciabecco begins to populate: girls and boys between 25 and 40 years (entry is strictly allowed only to adults) inaugurate the dances in the three different areas, each with different genres. The people of Sciabecco are a mix of tourists from all over the world and young people coming from all over Sardinia. Bottles of champagne travel non-stop from the bar to the privée, accompanied by twinkling lights.

We get carried away by the “Club philosophy” of the place and slide from one musical genre to another. First we dance to the rhythm of the summer 2022 catchphrases in the garden in front of the pool, where the DJ mixes commercial and reggaeton. After about an hour we move inside. In the first room the evening is dedicated to trap and hip-hop music with the younger audience unleashed. Not far away is the international house to take the stage.

The night flows fast under the starry sky of Villasimius. Between dances, drinks with friends and carefree smiles you really feel on vacation. The city is far away, the efforts of a year of work even more and it is easy not to notice the hours that pass to the rhythm of music.

Before going to sleep, escorted by the Sciabecco shuttle, we stop with Simone Murgioni, manager of the restaurant who tells us the story of this disco and shares with us some previews for this 2022. “Over the years, top world DJs such as Carl Cox and Timo Maas have alternated in consoles and also in this summer 2022 – he assures – they will come to mix in the southeast coast of the island, important names on the international scene”.

Incidente a Villasor: è morto l’uomo al volante della Smart.

Non ce l’ha fatta il quarantenne che si trovava alla guida di una Smart. L’uomo è morto subito dopo esser stato trasportato al Brotzu.

L’incidente sulla Statale 196: un impatto di una violenza inaudita contro un minivan condotto da un uomo anziano che non ha lasciato scampo al conducente della piccola utilitaria, le cui condizioni sono apparse immediatamente disperate ai primi soccorritori giunti sul posto.

Mentre il silenzio della strada veniva squarciato dalle sirene, il destino si è compiuto in pochi istanti di terrore, rendendo necessario l’intervento tempestivo e faticoso dei vigili del fuoco per riuscire finalmente a estrarre l’uomo dalle lamiere accartocciate della vettura; una volta affidato alle cure febbrili dei sanitari del 118, il ferito è stato prontamente intubato e trasportato d’urgenza presso l’ospedale Brotzu nel tentativo estremo di strapparlo alla morte, ma purtroppo il suo cuore ha cessato di battere poco dopo il ricovero poiché troppo gravi sono risultate le conseguenze del violento impatto subito sulla statale.

Nonostante gli sforzi sovrumani del personale medico, l’uomo non ce l’ha fatta, lasciando dietro di sé il vuoto di una fine prematura su un tratto stradale che ancora una volta reclama il suo tributo di sangue; parallelamente, l’altro protagonista della vicenda, l’anziano alla guida del minivan, è stato trasferito in codice rosso al Policlinico, sebbene le notizie che filtrano dalle corsie ospedaliere rassicurino sul fatto che l’uomo non sarebbe attualmente in pericolo di vita, nonostante le ferite riportate e il trauma di un evento così devastante.

La dinamica resta ora oggetto di riflessione, ma ciò che rimane è la cronaca di una giornata finita in tragedia, dove una Smart distrutta racconta la fragilità della vita umana davanti a uno scontro così fatale.
