With dozens of breathtaking beaches and a lively and carefree village, Villasimius is one of the most appreciated and well-known tourist resorts in sardinia. Here the days pass slowly between sunbathing sessions, boat trips, and lunches overlooking the sea. The evenings light up in the lounge bars that overlook the main street of the city center and continue in the premises of the area. Among these stands out one of the longest-lived clubs on the island, the Sciabecco, “theater” of summer evenings for 26 long years.

We went to discover this historic disco, the only club in southeastern Sardinia, which after two years of limitations caused by the pandemic officially reopens “the doors of the night” to its audience with music and dancing until the first light of dawn.

We are picked up at the hotel by the shuttle made available by the club. Just call a little in advance and at the scheduled time the vehicle that leads us to the local arrives. We arrive early so that we can enjoy the pre-evening in the large garden of 2000 square meters.

We sit at a table by the pool, made sparkling by the thousand lights of the room. Lights that we see again on the lawn with the puffs illuminated where you can sit to drink the drinks ordered at the counter. From the cocktail menu we immediately notice the particular attention paid to the choice of labels. We order two Gin Tonics, one with Bombay and one with Hendrick’s, and two Moscow mules with Grey Goose vodka.

While sipping our drinks the Sciabecco begins to populate: girls and boys between 25 and 40 years (entry is strictly allowed only to adults) inaugurate the dances in the three different areas, each with different genres. The people of Sciabecco are a mix of tourists from all over the world and young people coming from all over Sardinia. Bottles of champagne travel non-stop from the bar to the privée, accompanied by twinkling lights.

We get carried away by the “Club philosophy” of the place and slide from one musical genre to another. First we dance to the rhythm of the summer 2022 catchphrases in the garden in front of the pool, where the DJ mixes commercial and reggaeton. After about an hour we move inside. In the first room the evening is dedicated to trap and hip-hop music with the younger audience unleashed. Not far away is the international house to take the stage.

The night flows fast under the starry sky of Villasimius. Between dances, drinks with friends and carefree smiles you really feel on vacation. The city is far away, the efforts of a year of work even more and it is easy not to notice the hours that pass to the rhythm of music.

Before going to sleep, escorted by the Sciabecco shuttle, we stop with Simone Murgioni, manager of the restaurant who tells us the story of this disco and shares with us some previews for this 2022. “Over the years, top world DJs such as Carl Cox and Timo Maas have alternated in consoles and also in this summer 2022 – he assures – they will come to mix in the southeast coast of the island, important names on the international scene”.

Scenario è il nuovo album di Perry Frank, progetto ambient italiano attivo dal 2006, pubblicato dalla label americana Shady Ridge Records.

Il disco esplora territori ambient, drone e post-rock attraverso chitarre trattate, tape loops e texture in lenta evoluzione.

Attivo dal 2006, Perry Frank è un progetto musicale italiano dedicato alla ricerca ambient, drone e post-rock.
Con Scenario, l’artista prosegue il suo percorso sonoro attraverso un lavoro di grande coerenza e profondità emotiva.
L’album si sviluppa come un continuum sonoro, in cui ogni traccia non è pensata come entità autonoma, ma come parte di un unico paesaggio in lenta trasformazione.
Droni profondi, chitarre trattate, tape loops e texture stratificate costruiscono ambienti sonori sospesi, dove il tempo sembra dilatarsi e l’ascolto richiede una fruizione attenta e consapevole.
La musica di Scenario non nasce come semplice sottofondo, ma come esperienza immersiva, capace di accompagnare stati interiori di riflessione, meditazione e contemplazione.
Le composizioni evolvono per micro-variazioni, senza brusche rotture, seguendo una poetica della sottrazione tipica dell’ambient più maturo.
Registrato tra giugno 2024 e settembre 2025 presso gli HomeLand Studios di Iglesias (Sardegna), l’album mostra una produzione pulita e rispettosa delle dinamiche, valorizzando la spazialità e la profondità timbrica, particolarmente efficaci nell’ascolto in cuffia.
Scenario rappresenta un nuovo capitolo nella visione artistica di Perry Frank: un’opera che non ricerca l’impatto immediato, ma la durata, la presenza e la risonanza emotiva del suono.
L’album è strutturato con grande cura nel passaggio tra i momenti di maggiore densità e quelli di maggiore rarefazione.
Questo crea un senso di continuità spazio-temporalmente fluida, perfetto per il genere ambient e in sintonia con le sue influenze dichiarate (Basinski, Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Fennesz, ecc.) dove il tempo musicale è dilatato più che misurato.

Perry Frank è il progetto musicale di Francesco Perra, nato nel 2006 e orientato alla sperimentazione ambient, post-rock, drone e psichedelica.
La sua musica fonde elementi elettronici e strumenti acustici, con un uso centrale della chitarra trattata, dei tape loops e delle texture ambientali.
Le composizioni si sviluppano attraverso lente evoluzioni, privilegiando atmosfera, spazio e profondità emotiva.
Nel corso degli anni ha pubblicato otto album, tra cui Soundscape Box 1 (2014) e Nuit Ensemble (2022), undici EP tra cui Morning View (2021), Nebel (2023) e Cloudburst (2024), oltre a numerose collaborazioni internazionali.
Dal 2014 cura le Ambient Guitar Sessions, registrazioni live realizzate in diverse location suggestive della Sardegna, progetto che unisce musica, paesaggio e ascolto immersivo.
Le sue principali influenze includono Brian Eno, William Basinski, Harold Budd, Fennesz, Robin Guthrie, Pink Floyd e Carbon Based Lifeforms.
