Do you want to spend a perfect summer day in Cagliari? In the morning you must stop at Poetto, the magnificent beach of Cagliari: about 8 kilometers of beach framed by the unique silhouette of the Sella del Diavolo. Lunch in one of the many kiosks on the seafront and away, ready for an evening of shopping and culture in the streets of the historic city center.

.At nightfall, when the sunset fills the sky with gold and reminds us that it is time for dinner, to escape the traffic and the heat of the city, there is an oasis of relaxation a few kilometers from the center where you can spend an evening outdoors the best meats from all over the world, fresh homemade pasta and selected labels of spirits.

La Vecchia Fattoria was born in Selargius, a village of capers, civraxiu, and sapa bread, almost 20 years ago from the passion of the Contu family for local products, good food, and hospitality. And, today more than ever, it continues on the wave of this tradition that has made it famous. Thanks to the experience and skills acquired by the owners around the world, here every lunch or dinner becomes a real gastronomic experience.

Our summer evening begins with different proposals on the menu: “Mare & Tavola” and “All we can Grill”, preceded by the Tagliere del Fattore, a selection of local, national, and international hams and cheeses accompanied by homemade finger food, such as panadine, coccoi prenas, panzerotti.

The first, strictly handmade, in summer give the best of themselves. All the doughs of the different shapes of fresh pasta are prepared with ingredients that make them unique: undecided between the different proposals of strozzapreti, Bbq with hemp or blue rocket and pistachio, we decided to try them both. Apt and recommended choice.

Continuing with the second courses, it is impossible not to taste the meats: at the Vecchia Fattoria you can go around the world through the meat and the expert grillers in the kitchen will delight you with fine cuts. Taste the Avileña Negra (Galician breed par excellence), the Simmenthal (one of the oldest existing cattle breeds in the world, originally from Switzerland), the Iberian Wagyu (a meeting between native breeds of cattle of Spain with the famous Japanese cattle, Wagyu), the Rubia Gallega (the top of red meat, from cattle strictly bred in the wild, the Angus (one of the oldest cattle breeds, originally from Scotland and the Angus region from which it takes its name), thus becomes a taste experience.

After dinner we move to a new area of the restaurant, with reserved tables. In the cool of the night and under a starry summer sky, comes the tasting board with cheeses, chocolates and dried fruit accompanying selected spirits. Rum and whiskey from the best labels to accompany us towards the conclusion of our special evening.

A journey of flavor and taste accompanied by passion and commitment: a history behind it and a present in the name of contemporaneity and internationalization.

Dal 12 al 15 marzo Samassi diventa il cuore della valorizzazione delle eccellenze agricole e artigianali del territorio con la 36ª edizione della Sagra del Carciofo e la 25ª Fiera dell’Agroalimentare. Un appuntamento ormai storico che ogni anno richiama visitatori e appassionati per scoprire e degustare i prodotti tipici del Medio Campidano, con il carciofo come protagonista assoluto.

Per quattro giorni il paese si anima con un ricco programma di iniziative pensate per promuovere la cultura agroalimentare locale. Incontri tematici, laboratori didattici nelle scuole, appuntamenti al mercato, manifestazioni sportive e momenti culturali scandiscono il calendario della manifestazione. Non mancheranno la proiezione di docufilm, spettacoli artistici e culinari e le visite alle case storiche del paese, in un lavoro collettivo che vede coinvolte amministrazione, associazioni e comunità locale nel consolidare il successo delle produzioni del territorio.

Le giornate centrali saranno sabato 14 e domenica 15 marzo, quando il centro storico di Samassi si trasformerà in una grande vetrina dell’agroalimentare sardo. Le strade ospiteranno numerosi espositori con una selezione di prodotti certificati e di qualità, mentre i visitatori potranno partecipare a degustazioni e percorsi gastronomici dedicati al carciofo.

Una delle tappe più suggestive sarà quella delle Domus e Lollas di Samassi, le tradizionali case in terra cruda che rappresentano un importante patrimonio storico e culturale del paese. Per l’occasione diventeranno spazi dedicati a laboratori esperienziali e show cooking, dove sarà possibile imparare l’arte della preparazione di alcune specialità locali come il raviolo di Samassi, le panadas e sa costedda.

Ad accompagnare il pubblico ci sarà anche un itinerario enogastronomico che guiderà tra i diversi punti ristoro del paese, con numerose proposte di carciofo street food declinate in tante ricette della tradizione.

Tra gli eventi più attesi ci sono gli show cooking a Casa Podda.

Il primo appuntamento è previsto alle 11.30 con lo chef Alberto Sanna, affiancato dal sommelier William Pusceddu, mentre il secondo si terrà alle 17.30 con lo chef Raffaele Altamura, per scoprire nuove interpretazioni gastronomiche del carciofo.

La Sagra del Carciofo, nata nel 1986, è diventata negli anni uno degli eventi più rappresentativi della zona, con l’obiettivo di valorizzare uno dei prodotti simbolo dell’agricoltura locale.

A Samassi si coltiva soprattutto il carciofo violetto sardo, varietà particolarmente apprezzata per il gusto e la versatilità in cucina. Accanto ad esso vengono coltivate anche altre varietà come Romanesco, Apollo, Life, Tema, Spinoso e Ares, a testimonianza di una produzione ricca e diversificata.

Oltre alle sue qualità gastronomiche, il carciofo è noto anche per i benefici nutrizionali e salutari, caratteristiche che lo rendono da sempre protagonista della tradizione culinaria sarda e non solo.

La manifestazione non è soltanto una festa del gusto, ma anche un’occasione per scoprire il patrimonio materiale e immateriale di Samassi e dei centri del Medio Campidano. Ampio spazio sarà dedicato alla riscoperta delle domus e lollas, alla tradizione della terra cruda e alle attività sportive, tra cui l’amatissima Marcialonga, uno degli appuntamenti più attesi della manifestazione.

Quattro giorni di eventi che uniscono gastronomia, cultura e identità locale, confermando la Sagra del Carciofo come uno degli appuntamenti più importanti per la promozione delle eccellenze del territorio.
