La Sardegna è piegata dalla furia del Maestrale. Secondo i dati rilevati dalla rete di Sardegna Clima, la giornata odierna ha fatto registrare valori estremi che hanno messo a dura prova la tenuta del territorio. E’ a Escalaplano che si è toccato il picco massimo con raffiche che hanno superato l’incredibile velocità di 148 km/h. Non meno critica la situazione in Gallura e sulla costa orientale, con Orosei che ha toccato i 136 km/h e Olbia i 134 km/h.

La perturbazione, che ha colpito inizialmente il nuorese per poi estendersi a Sassari, Cagliari e Oristano, ha scatenato un’ondata di richieste di soccorso senza precedenti. Alle ore 17:00 di oggi, i Vigili del Fuoco hanno già portato a termine circa 500 interventi su base regionale. La situazione più tesa si registra nei comandi di Sassari e Nuoro, dove restano in coda rispettivamente 150 e 130 chiamate, seguiti da Cagliari con 60 interventi ancora da evadere. Le operazioni riguardano principalmente la messa in sicurezza di cornicioni, la rimozione di parti pericolanti dagli edifici, la gestione di frane e lo sgombero di centinaia di alberi abbattuti.

Il bilancio dei danni si aggrava con il passare delle ore. A Usini, il maltempo ha rischiato di trasformarsi in tragedia: alcuni passanti sono rimasti feriti, fortunatamente in modo lieve, a causa della caduta improvvisa di un albero. A Bonorva, la forza del vento ha scoperchiato interamente un capannone, mentre a Bari Sardo la Protezione Civile ha disposto l’evacuazione precauzionale di due famiglie e due attività commerciali a causa di un grosso fusto pericolante in via Case.

Il Sud Sardegna non è stato risparmiato. A Villasimius si registra un’elevata concentrazione di danni: tre squadre dei Vigili del Fuoco sono impegnate esclusivamente nell’area per impianti fotovoltaici divelti, condizionatori sospesi nel vuoto e strade bloccate dalla vegetazione.

I disagi si estendono anche alle infrastrutture digitali: a Lanusei e nella stessa Villasimius le comunicazioni telefoniche sono a singhiozzo a causa del danneggiamento di diverse celle della rete mobile. Nell’oristanese, la zona più colpita resta quella servita dal distaccamento di Abbasanta, dove si segnalano numerosi smottamenti lungo le arterie provinciali.
