Sardinia’s longest Go Kart track? It’s in Ogliastra: let’s find out more about Kartodromo Is Arenadas

A track of 1236 meters, 10 meters wide along the whole path and 13 curves that follow a technically perfect route: these are the features of the longest track in Sardinia.
Among the many activities that you can choose in Ogliastra, after bathing in its crystalline waters or hiking into the wilds, you can definitely take a go-kart ride. Adrenaline and fun are always guaranteed at Is Arenadas kartdrome in Girasole.
A track of 1236 meters, 10 meters wide along the whole path and 13 curves that follow a technically perfect route for racers of all skills, from expert to beginner, even for an elderly tourist that surprisingly gives youngsters a hard time: all of this could happen, framed in the scents of Ogliastra, a land of sun, sea and nature.
We went to explore the racetrack along with the staff. The path, which is particularly wide, allows 17 karts to race together at the same time. We chose the mini grand prix with a bunch of our friends. After a short briefing in the paddock, we put the helmets and rib protectors on, then we sit in the 270cc karts, ideal for beginner drivers. And that’s where the fun begins.

We feel the adrenaline rush amidst bends and chicanes and for thirty minutes we feel like children again. At the end of the grand prix the winner raises the winner’s cup and they take home a nice photo as a keepsake. Nothing is left to chance at Is Arenadas kartdrome: qualified experts and technicians give you the opportunity to live this experience in complete safety and they pay great attention to details and to everyone needs: from children to expert drivers.

There are many options for this unusual experience in Ogliastra: you can rent one of the 270cc and 200cc (125?) karts or book the track for corporate events, free rides, private competitions, MiniKart, time trial races and Grand Prix combinations. Moreover, safe driving courses and tire tests are also hosted at the racetrack. Entertainment is guaranteed until 4 a.m. and, between the races, you can dine or have a snack in the restaurant area near the track. Children can have fun in the playground area specifically designed for them.
If you’re in Ogliastra with your friends or family don’t hesitate: you can contact the owners, Michele and Nicola, and they’ll be glad to welcome you by the karts and take you to the starting blocks.
