La quarta edizione del Premio Ondras si prepara a celebrare chi, tra Europa e Sardegna, lavora per tutelare e valorizzare le lingue minoritarie. L’appuntamento è fissato per venerdì 5 dicembre 2025, alle ore 18, alla Manifattura Tabacchi di Cagliari. La serata sarà condotta da Lucia Cossu e Piersandro Pillonca, con la presentazione affidata a Mauro Carta, presidente regionale del CREI ACLI, organizzazione ideatrice del premio.

Nato nel 2022 in sostituzione di un precedente premio di poesia sarda, Ondras non è soltanto un riconoscimento. È un progetto culturale ambizioso che mira a riportare le lingue locali al centro del dibattito politico e sociale, stimolando la società a riscoprire e valorizzare le proprie radici linguistiche. “La nostra manifestazione mette al centro gli ultimi delle lingue ultime”, ha sottolineato il presidente della commissione, lo scrittore Giuseppe Corongiu.

La cerimonia, oltre alla consegna dei premi ai vincitori 2025 (i cui nomi saranno svelati solo durante l’evento), vedrà la partecipazione di personalità del mondo della politica e della cultura. La parte musicale sarà affidata a Matteo Leone, musicista di origini tabarchine, attivo tra il Sulcis e l’Europa.

Ondras si distingue per la sua prospettiva europea: creare reti di dialogo, scambiare esperienze e stimolare la rivitalizzazione linguistica sono obiettivi che guardano al medio e lungo termine. Il progetto punta a un approccio scientifico e sociologico, studiando la realtà sarda e orientando campagne di comunicazione innovative.

Ogni edizione di Ondras ha saputo valorizzare storie uniche. Nel 2024, tra i premiati, Franco Siddi, primo giornalista a portare la lingua sarda in Rai; Danilo Brancati, attivista della comunità grecanica d’Italia; e Castillo Suarez Garcia, filologa e attivista basca. Nel 2023, il riconoscimento è andato a studiosi e promotori del bilinguismo, come Antonella Sorace, fondatrice del centro Bilingualism Matters, e Guido Menshing, ideatore della Lista di Berlino, prima chat digitale dedicata al sardo.

La prima edizione del 2022 è stata dedicata a figure simbolo della cultura e delle lingue minoritarie, come l’artista Rut Bernardi, il direttore dell’Agenzia per il friulano William Cisilino, e il poeta catalano Carles Duarte, oltre al postumo riconoscimento a Paolo Pillonca, maestro della poesia popolare sarda e punto di riferimento della rinascita della lingua isolana.

Ondras non celebra solo il talento: punta a generare idee e reti, collegare la Sardegna con l’Europa e trasformare la percezione delle lingue minoritarie da folklore a risorsa sociale ed economica. È un riconoscimento, certo, ma anche una provocazione positiva: avvicinare istituzioni e cittadini per far sì che la lingua diventi strumento di identità, coesione e innovazione.
