L’appuntamento di quest’anno è fissato per il 18 dicembre a Cagliari, dalle 9 alle 21, nella sua sede storica, la scalinata di Bonaria, dopo l’ultimo weekend di pre-raccolta previsto per il 13 e 14 dicembre. Esso si svolgerà in concomitanza in altri 24 comuni sardi.

“Il Miracolo” porta con sé un messaggio forte su più livelli. «Il primo miracolo — ha affermato l’arcivescovo mons. Giuseppe Baturi — è che, nonostante l’incertezza della vita e le nuove forme di povertà, persino tra chi lavora, non ci chiudiamo nell’egoismo, ma ascoltiamo il grido di chi ha bisogno. Il secondo miracolo è la condivisione: non dare qualcosa, ma dividere ciò che abbiamo. Il terzo miracolo è che tutto questo avviene insieme, in tanti paesi, come gesto collettivo che manifesta l’anima generosa della Sardegna. E il quarto miracolo è la continuità: ventinove edizioni che dimostrano che non si tratta di un “fuoco di paglia”, perché non c’è carità senza fedeltà».

«Il 29° Miracolo di Natale — ha aggiunto don Marco Lai, direttore della Caritas — nasce in un contesto di estrema povertà e dimostra come, attraverso gesti concreti di solidarietà, ognuno possa fare la propria parte. Donare significa entrare nelle case delle persone in difficoltà e contribuire a combattere la povertà. Per noi cristiani, è anche un momento che richiama il mistero del Natale e la possibilità di costruire un mondo migliore, con Dio accanto».

«Il Miracolo di Natale è una scintilla — ha spiegato Gennaro Longobardi, ideatore dell’iniziativa — che diventa fuoco solo grazie alla “legna”: volontari, associazioni e cittadini. Il Miracolo di Natale non è mio, ma della gente. La forza del progetto risiede nella partecipazione di tutti», ha concluso Longobardi, ricordando anche la memoria di Antonello Lai, storico collaboratore del progetto.

A rendere possibile l’iniziativa Croce Rossa, Questura di Cagliari, Polizia di Stato, Masise, Vigilanza Coop Service, Alimentis, oltre ai giovani del servizio civile Caritas e ai numerosi volontari.

Durante l’incontro sono state anticipate alcune novità di questa edizione, tra cui la partecipazione di artisti come Moses e la realizzazione di una speciale colonna sonora a cura di Soleandro, accompagnata da un cartone animato che ritrae scorci della scalinata di Bonaria.

Tutto ciò che verrà donato — generi alimentari a lunga conservazione, articoli per bambini e giocattoli — sarà destinato alle persone bisognose assistite dalla Chiesa di Cagliari tramite il Centro di Assistenza della Caritas diocesana. Come ha ricordato Antonello Atzeni, il Centro di Assistenza diocesano supporta ogni mese circa 1.600 famiglie grazie al lavoro di una trentina di volontari. Articolo di Alessandro Congia.
