Qui si registra la più alta concentrazione di centenari al mondo».

La scoperta della Blue Zone risale a circa venticinque anni fa ed è legata agli studi del professor Giovanni Maria Pes, medico e professore associato di Scienze dell’alimentazione e tecniche dietetiche applicate all’Università di Sassari.

Durante l’incontro, il professor Pes ripercorrerà le tappe che lo hanno condotto a questa scoperta di rilievo internazionale. Attualmente è presidente dell’Osservatorio Sardinia Longevity Blue Zone. La mattinata proseguirà con l’intervento del professor Alberto Cauli, direttore della struttura complessa di Reumatologia del Policlinico di Monserrato.

Nel corso dell’evento sarà inoltre proiettato il documentario “Il club dei centenari”, realizzato dal regista lanuseino Pietro Mereu, un lavoro che sta ottenendo grande attenzione e che continua a essere presentato in numerose occasioni.

Previsto anche un contributo da Milano: interverrà in collegamento il professor Silvio Garattini, 97 anni. Pur non essendo sardo, anche lui può essere considerato parte di questo ideale “circolo della longevità”. Garattini è fondatore e presidente dell’Istituto di ricerche farmacologiche “Mario Negri” di Milano, e la sua esperienza rappresenta un riferimento prezioso per comprendere i segreti di una vita lunga e in salute.

L’iniziativa promossa da Asmar rappresenta un appuntamento di grande valore per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sull’importanza della prevenzione e dei corretti stili di vita.
